Mascota is a beautiful and peaceful city located in the western Sierra Madre mountain range. The municipality is located in the northwestern section of the state of Jalisco with the following coordinates: northern latitude 20 degrees 15'00" to 20 degrees 50'00" and western longitude of 104 degrees 22'20" and 105 degrees 05'00". The altitude of Mascota is 1,268 meters above sea level (4,000 feet). The extension of the municipality is 1,853.6 km2, which represents 1.98% of the total size of the state.
